Every match is listed with its page number and the text around it, so you can judge which ones matter without opening the document and clicking through. This is most useful before redacting, when you need to find every occurrence of a name rather than the first one your reader happens to land on.

How is this better than my reader's search?

It gives you the whole list at once, with context, rather than one match at a time.

Why does it find nothing in my scan?

Scans have no text to search until OCR has been run.

Does it match capitals?

Only if you ask it to.
