How it works

Reports which actions the document permits — printing, copying, commenting, filling forms. The important thing to understand is that these are requests. They are recorded in the file and honoured by well-behaved readers; a reader that ignores them does so trivially. Treat them as a statement of intent rather than as protection.

Questions

Are permissions enforced?
No. They are honoured by convention. A reader that ignores them does so easily.
So what are they for?
Preventing accidents and stating intent, not preventing determined copying.
Can I remove them?
Not with PDFdesk. Doing so would be helping people ignore a document owner's wishes.
