Add a Header or Footer

Put a running header or footer across the pages, with dates and page numbers.

Runs in your browser

How it works

Each line has three positions — left, centre and right — because that is how headers are actually laid out: a document name on one side, a section in the middle, a date or page number on the other. Variables such as page number, total pages, filename, date and document title are filled in as the pages are marked, using the same syntax as page numbering.

Questions

Can I use a page number in a header?
Yes. Any of the three positions can include the page and total.
Can I have both a header and a footer?
Yes, by running the tool twice.
Will it overlap my content?
It sits in the margin. Increase the distance from the edge if your pages are set close.
